Thibodeau, co-writer of "Good Directions" which was awarded Song of the Year at Monday night's ASCAP Awards also wrote two of McBride's songs on her Waking Up Laughing album - "Loveland" (co-written with Tom Douglas) and "I'll Still Be Me" (co-written with Tammy Hyler).

"We started Little Champion Music this year and Rachel is our first writer," says Martina. "We plan on signing more writers as we find ones that are as special as she is."

In 1997, Thibodeau, a native of Elk River, Minnesota, left her home state for the very first time and moved to Nashville. She made Music City her permanent home in 2002 and in June of 2003, Thibodeau signed a publishing deal with Murrah Music Group. Three months later, Thibodeau had her first cut with Lila McCann. Thibodeau and fellow Murrah Music writer Luke Bryan experienced their first taste of success as a writing duo when Billy Currington cut and released their song "Good Directions" which soared up the Billboard country singles chart where it spent multiple weeks at number one and took home ASCAP's Song of the Year prize.

"Rachel is one of the most talented, incredible, hard-working people we have ever come in contact with," says John McBride. "She is going to be a major force in Nashville songwriting, and she is well on her way!"

Thibodeau is still amazed by her daily blessings when she writes and records demos at McBride's Blackbird Studios in Nashville where artists like Martina, Keith Urban and Rascal Flatts, and many others record their albums.

"Martina and John are such amazing people," Thibodeau says. "There aren't two people in this world that I'd rather work with. They encourage me to grow as a writer and as an artist and I am constantly learning from both of them. Martina has always been such a major influence in my musical career so to be able to now write for her and John is such a dream come true."

"At Blackbird Studios, I'm surrounded by all of these people who have achieved such amazing things," Thibodeau says. "It fills me with this energy that I can't even explain and I'm excited every day to write another song and see where it will land...I absolutely love my job."``xEkkuFVAlyEEBBnwfKE``x1224367061``x(default) THE NEW SINGLE IS...``xDarren``xMartina has chosen her debut single from her upcoming album and it's a song called Ride! As part of a new promotion, random copies of Martina's Official Tour Book will be sold, containing a pair of meet and greet passes for the show that night. Two pairs of passes will be given away, allowing 4 lucky fans the chance of a lifetime to meet Martina, get an autograph and have a picture taken with her.

The promotion will most likely end at the Florida shows as the Minnesota show in Red Wing is at a casino and there will probably be no meet and greets there. Tee-Cee Bailey, Martina's Merchandise Manager, said that Martina came up with this idea herself as a way to be able to connect with a few lucky fans at every show.

So, if you're heading to a Martina show in the next couple of weeks, look for the banners and the merchandise tables for more information. The lucky programs will be inserted so that they're sold before the first act comes on (approximately 7:30 pm) so be sure to get there early for the best chance to meet Martina! The tour begins this Friday, July 11, at the DTE Energy Music Theatre near Detroit, Michigan and will bring the country superstar to over thirty markets by mid-October.

After a successful arena run in both the US and Canada, this extension will offer fans the opportunity to take in hit after hit under the stars. "This is the first time I have headlined an amphitheater tour," says McBride, "and we are really excited to be working with Brian O'Connell and Live Nation."

With five number one hits and twenty-two top tens to pull from, Martina's sizzling set is sure to give the audience everything they want and more.

Released in April of 2007 McBride's record, Waking up Laughing, stole critic's hearts and introduced the smash hit "Anyway", which was nominated for three CMA Awards and CMT Music Awards Female Video of the Year. Throughout her career, her angelic voice and powerful delivery have helped McBride sell over 16 million albums. Named CMA Female Vocalist of the Year four times, she is currently tied with Reba McEntire for most wins. Recently, Martina released her first ever live CD / DVD, Martina McBride: Live In Concert.

Continuing on the tour with Martina will be 2008 ACM Top New Male Vocalist Jack Ingram who has wowed audiences with his intensely entertaining live show. After a decade of critical acclaim, Jack Ingram's breakthrough album, This Is It, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Country Album Chart. His #1 smash single "Wherever You Are" kicked off a clean sweep of hits that was followed by the Top Ten tongue-in-cheek rocker, "Love You;" Jack's rendition of "Lips of an Angel;" "Measure of a Man," and his most recent single, the romantic lament, "Maybe She'll Get Lonely."

In addition, two hot newcomers will open the stage: Chris Young (on through Aug. 30) and Jason Michael Carroll (Sept. 19 - Oct. 11).

For Country Music's biggest voice, Martina McBride, the sky's the limit this summer as she takes her "Waking Up Laughing Tour" outdoors to over twenty-five amphitheaters. After a successful arena run, in both the US and Canada, this extension will offer fans the opportunity to take in hit after hit in a completely different environment.

"We at Live Nation are very excited to be working with Martina this summer," said VP of Nashville Touring, Brian O'Connell. "Martina is unquestionably one of the biggest stars in the entertainment world and this summer we look forward to seeing her under the stars!"

Released in April of 2007 McBride's record, Waking Up Laughing, included the smash hit "Anyway" which was nominated for three CMA Awards, and is currently nominated for CMT Music Awards Female Video of the Year. Proving she has the performance chops to back up the studio cuts, the "Waking Up Laughing" Arena Tour was ranked by Pollstar as a top ten tour in all genres, top five country tour, and the number one solo-female country tour.

"McBride brought the crowd to its feet and enjoyed a standing ovation, in the middle of her set no less," noted the Grand Rapids Press of a recent show.

"McBride possesses the most powerful set of pipes of any woman in contemporary country music, a ringing mezzo-soprano that splits syllables with pitch-perfect precision and sustains notes with seemingly effortless aplomb," raved the San Francisco Chronicle.

With five number one hits, and twenty-two top tens to pull from, Martina's set is sure to give the audience everything they want and more, including "Blessed," "A Broken Wing," and "Wild Angels." In addition, McBride mixes it up with covers of country classics like Loretta Lynn's "You Aint Woman Enough" and a rendition of "Over the Rainbow" that would make the toughest of men tear up just a little. Her mega-anthems like "Independence Day" and "Anyway" might just blow the roof off the house, if there were one.

"This One's For the Girls"... that's one way to describe the special guests. Continuing on the tour with Martina will be Texas based singer-songwriter Jack Ingram who has wowed audiences with his intensely entertaining live show and two newcomers Chris Young (on through Aug. 30) and Jason Michael Carroll (Sept. 19 - Oct. 11).

After a decade of critical acclaim, Jack Ingram's breakthrough album, This Is It, debuted at #4 on the Billboard Country Album Chart. His #1 smash single "Wherever You Are" kicked off a clean sweep of hits that was followed by the Top Ten tongue-in-cheek rocker, "Love You;" Jack's rendition of "Lips of an Angel;" "Measure of a Man," and his current hit single, the romantic lament, "Maybe She'll Get Lonely."

Chris Young burst onto the country music scene two years ago with his self-titled debut album, which was the highest selling debut by a new male country act for all of 2006 and earned him his first Academy of Country Music nomination in 2007 for Top New Male. The 22 year-old is rooted in his love of traditional country music but has taken his 10+ years of live stage experience and crafted his own version of what is today's country music. His sophomore album set to release this summer is a true representation of Young's incredible musicianship and showcases his amazing gift - his voice.

Billboard's Top New Country Artist of 2007, Arista Nashville recording artist Jason Michael Carroll exploded onto the scene with the release of his first album, Waitin' in the Country, which debuted at #1 in its first week on the country album chart. Having drawn praise from such outlets as USA Today, the Los Angeles Times, and many more, Carroll kicked off 2008 with his debut performance on Good Morning America. With back-to-back Top 5 singles to his credit ("Alyssa Lies" and "Livin' Our Love Song"), Carroll is on the charts now with his latest hit, "I Can Sleep When I'm Dead."

Whether on the road, or in the studio, there is seemingly nothing that McBride cannot accomplish. The multi-platinum-songstress has earned a Grammy Award, CMA Female Vocalist of the Year four times (a tied record she shares with Reba McEntire) and currently is nominated for the 2008 ACM Female Vocalist of the Year. To date McBride has sold over 16 million albums.

Thanks to eBay, PPD will generate national awareness and support for the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt, a leading provider in pediatric health care, currently ranked 23rd in the nation by U.S.News & World Report.

Over 50 wooden paper dolls, representing the signature symbol in the Children’s Hospital logo, have been turned into “one of a kind” pieces of art by artists and celebrities from around the country. The totally unique pieces of art have been created by some of America’s biggest stars, including Carrie Underwood, George Strait, Jimmy Buffett, Martina McBride, Keith Urban, Trace Adkins, Rodney Atkins, Tracy Byrd, Billy Ray and Miley Cyrus (Hannah Montana), Dierks Bentley, George Jones, Hootie & the Blowfish, Ryan Newman (NASCAR), Kenny Rogers plus many others.

A national online auction launching the day after Thanksgiving (Nov. 23) will be facilitated by eBay’s Giving Works division. In addition, eBay has selected Project Paper Doll as the back cover feature for its holiday catalog distributed to over six million households.

An unveiling of the wooden paper dolls decorated and autographed by stars from the aforementioned country music industry as well as sports, television and film will take place at the PPD Kick-Off Party Nov. 15 hosted by PPD Honorary Chairman Joe Galante (chairman of Sony/BMG Nashville).

The founders of Project Paper Doll are Bryan and Traci Frasher (Bryan is the National Director of Promotion for Arista Nashville at Sony/BMG). “My wife, Traci, is a true visionary and when she came to me with the idea of what is now ‘Project Paper Doll’, I knew it was the perfect vehicle to serve the kids at the Children's Hospital. This project connects their hearts to the hearts of the Nashville entertainment and business community and, through eBay's involvement, the rest of the country. The Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt is a wonderful place and needs our help to continue taking care of not only our children, but children everywhere," Bryan says.

Fans and collectors can log onto eBay on Nov. 23 to bid on their favorite paper doll decorated and autographed by their favorite celebrity. The artwork will be auctioned off in three groups. Launch dates are Nov. 23 for a 10-day auction, Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 for seven-day auctions, with the final group concluding on Dec. 18. The highest bidder wins a treasure, and the Monroe Carell Jr. Children’s Hospital at Vanderbilt gains the continued ability to get children well on their way! ``xEEAVVAElyuyAPofWlp``x1195599064``x(default) TAKE OUR SURVEY``xDarren``xHey Martina fans, we want to know what you think about Martina's web site. ``xEEAuFykkpZCYTlBnmx``x1194369407``x(default) MARTINA ANNOUNCES HER 2008 ARENA TOUR``xDarren``xSpecial Guests Jack Ingram And Lady Antebellum Join Showstopper McBride On Nationwide Tour

Country music superstar Martina McBride will begin 2008 by continuing the success of "Waking Up Laughing," her nationwide arena tour. McBride kicks off her latest string of shows on January 18th in Evansville, IN for what continues to be the most exciting tour of her career. Several new faces join the show in 2008. Rising-star Jack Ingram and much buzzed-about newcomers, Lady Antebellum will help Martina wow the crowds.

McBride added to her successful career in 2007 with the release of Waking Up Laughing, a top-earning tour with award-winners Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins, and numerous television appearances. Waking Up Laughing has given country music the smash hit "Anyway" and the upbeat "How I Feel." Destined to become yet another McBride classic, "Anyway" has garnered CMA award nominations for "Single of the Year", "Song of the Year" and "Video of the Year". Martina is also nominated for "Top Female Vocalist" at the 2007 CMA Awards. She currently shares the record with Reba McEntire for most wins in the category, claiming "Top Female Vocalist" four times.

McBride's powerhouse voice has earned her more than 16 million in CD sales, garnering six number ones and 22 top-ten singles including her signature hits "Independence Day," "Wild Angels," "A Broken Wing" and "This One's for the Girls". These songs, along with her recent hits "Concrete Angel," "Love's the Only House" and "God's Will" have not only become memorable music statements, but offer resounding social commentaries.

Since April, McBride has appeared on numerous national television shows including FOX's American Idol, ABC Primetime's Six Degrees of Martina McBride, CBS' Fashion Rocks, ABC's special CMA Music Festival: Country Music's Night To Rock, The Tyra Banks Show and four appearances NBC's Today Show. McBride's 2007 Tour showcased in front of over 250,000 fans in 52 cities while receiving rave reviews. The tour was also ranked by Pollstar as a top 10 tour in all genres, top-five country tour, and the number one solo-female country tour.

"Martina McBride showed the crowd last night that she's elbowing Chesney, McGraw, and Urban for a spot at this format's top entertainer's table," noted Lon Helton. "We've all known for a long time Martina has one of the best voices in the business. She brings down the house with as much passion and emotion as I've heard any artist bring to a song. She now works the stage and the crowd as well as anyone, and has joined the ranks of this format's top entertainers."

Joining McBride on tour is Jack Ingram, a Texas-based singer/songwriter that is quickly becoming one of country's hot-new stars. After building his fan base on the Texas Roadhouse circuit for years, Ingram's current CD This is it, on Big Machine Records, has spawned four-consecutive national radio hits including the # 1 smash "Wherever You Are". As well as #1 Videos on CMT, a fan-voted CMT Award Win, his own CMT "Cross Country" episode with Miranda Lambert and separate national tours with each of Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley, Sheryl Crow and Brad Paisley.

Opening the can't-miss show will be Capitol Records Nashville newcomers Lady Antebellum. The trio of Hillary Scott, Charles Kelley and Dave Haywood combines to create a unique blend of harmonies reminiscent of classic country, a soulfulness of 1960s R&B and the heart-on-the-sleeve openness of 1970s singer/songwriters all with a keen edge of contemporary country. The group, who discovered each other's music on MySpace, has since grown an overwhelmingly strong fan base. Their self-penned debut single "Love Don't Live Here" has just been released to country radio. An album is expected in early spring 2008.

Tickets can be purchased at all Ticketmaster locations as well as www.ticketmaster.com.

``xEEAFluZEyZNxBHcNzE``x1193854367``x(default) WHITE CHRISTMAS ONCE AGAIN FOR MARTINA``xDarren``xSongstress Martina McBride is set to re-release her glorious renditions of some of the most loved Christmas songs, including four new breathtaking additions, "Hark! The Herald Angles Sing," "Winter Wonderland," "Jingle Bells," and her Dean Martin duet "Baby It's Cold Outside" (released last year by Capitol Records). White Christmas, which will also include all new artwork, will be released October 2nd.

"I love Christmas music and it was so hard for me to pick only a few of my favorite songs when we first recorded the album," admits McBride. " So when I got the chance to go back and add some other favorites I had missed, I was very excited. I knew I wanted to add the Dean Martin duet and after performing our Christmas show for the past several seasons, it made me want to add crowd favorites like "Winter Wonderland" and "Hark The Herald Angels Sing" - and of course Jingle Bells! How did I miss that one last time?"

Ironically, McBride produced the new cuts during the intense heat of July in the middle of one of the worst droughts Music City has seen in years. "I have to admit, it wasn't easy to forget the temps were in the 100s while I sang Jingle Bells!" laughs McBride.

McBride strongly represents the country genre as one of the Top 5 touring acts, following only Kenny Chesney, The Rowdy Frynds Tour (Hank Williams Jr. and Lynyrd Skynyrd), and Brad Paisley.

"It was great when I heard I was the only female touring act in the Top 10," says McBride. "But being in the company of Gwen Stefani isn't the worst thing that could happen! We really went all out with this tour and I'm excited about how it has been received."

The success of McBride's tour is no surprise for industry execs, radio programmers and music critics who have followed the steady rise of her illustrious 15-year career.

"Martina is so deserving of being recognized as one of the top touring acts," says Creative Artist Agency's Rod Essig. "The fact that she is one of two top female touring acts this year is no surprise to me. She is one of the best entertainers in any genre now and deserves all of the respect that comes with this honor. "

Lon Helton of Country Aircheck writes, "Martina McBride showed a Cedar Falls, IA crowd last Thursday night that she's elbowing Chesney, McGraw, Urban, Reba, et al, for a spot at this format's top entertainers' table. We've all known for a long time that Martina has one of the best voices in the business. She brings down the house with as much passion and emotion as I've heard any artist bring to a song. She now works the stage and the crowd as well as anyone and has joined the ranks of this format's top entertainers.

"Words can't describe. I've seen her 6 or 7 times over the years, but nothing like this...Some people stood outside the coliseum for an hour just talking about the show," praises WUSJ-FM program director Russ Williams.

"McBride demonstrated again last night...her credentials as a highly entertaining performer are impeccable." - Richmond Times

"The First Lady of the Tyson Events Center returned to Sioux City Friday night and rallied the faithful with a show so big it barely fit in the building. The new Reba, she earned the tilting video screens, the revolving lights and the platform that lifted her to the stage. But, the truth be told, McBride is one of the very few who could entertain without the props, without the band and without the gimmicks." - Sioux City Journal

"McBride owned the stage from her first note, leaving the thousands of fans in attendance feeling like she was singing only to them." - Norfolk Daily News

"From one tune to another, McBride morphed from a honky-tonk queen, to a tough rocker to a pure-pop diva... When she leaps into her upper register and milks a note for every possible ounce of emotion - it's guaranteed to get a crowd on its feet." - Newsday

"McBride is one of the artists who can raise the hair on the back of your neck with the vocal power that emanates from her diminutive frame." - Toledo Blade News

"The lady from Sharon, Kansas is one of the best singers in popular music. Several times she ignited long, loud and sincere cheers after showing off her considerable vocal skills - a notable feat in a place like Kemper Arena." -Kansas City Times

"McBride blew away the fans at the Times Union Center." - Albany Times Union

McBride released her ninth studio album Waking Up Laughing in April and is currently headlining her national arena tour which sold out New York's Radio City Music Hall as well as other venues across the country including Chicago, Atlanta, Uncasville and Lowell.``xEEluFukEFktxgiNFAW``x1184349332``x(default) 6 DEGREES COMING ON JULY 30TH!!``xDarren``x

The backbone of every Macy's Fireworks show is the musical score that sets the framework for pyrotechnic art in the sky. 'In Our Children's Eyes', this year's score is performed by The New York Pops under the direction of Rob Fisher, and features patriotic works, iconic movie themes, and uniquely American popular songs. From 'Yankee Doodle Dandy' to 'Take Me Out to the Ballgame.'

But not Martina McBride. Following up on her platinum-selling Timeless album, a poignant collection of country classics representing her first effort as solo producer, she's at the production helm again for her ninth studio release, Waking Up Laughing, due out April 3.

Since her debut in 1992, McBride has maintained a consistent presence on the country charts, including six number one singles, and has also enjoyed crossover success in the pop and adult contemporary genres. Always striving for new artistic heights, McBride is breaking new ground by serving as producer, writer and artist for her latest album, which includes three songs she co-wrote with the Warren Brothers and other top songwriters.

Her debut single, "Anyway," one of those co-writes, is the fastest rising single of her career currently at No. 7 on Billboard's Hot Country Songs. In a Billboard review, Chuck Taylor called it a "grand, skyscraping power ballad" and noted that as the song "builds to its emotional peak, McBride delivers the hoped-for wallop on the money notes, sending a million-dollar chill of inspiration."

In a New York Times concert review, Kelefah Sanneh writes, "She has a rich, elegant voice and an extraordinary knack for controlling it. She hits the big notes without hammering them; when she slowly bends a note up or down you can feel - see, almost - the gentle curve."

Indeed, McBride is revered for her powerhouse voice and known for passionate lyrics that have created such signature hits as "Independence Day," "Blessed," "Wild Angels" and "This One's for the Girls." Her latest release is sure to add to that cache, from the fiddle-laced rocker, "If I Had Your Name" (Hillary Lindsey/Steve McEwan/Gordon Sampson), to the exquisite "Tryin' to Find a Reason" (Tommy Lee James/Jeremy Stover), featuring Keith Urban on harmony vocals and guitar solo.

McBride also shows off her writing chops on the Beatlesque "How I Feel" (co-written with the Warren Brothers, Chris Lindsey and Aimee Mayo), featuring the Nashville String Machine, and the haunting "Beautiful Again," which juxtaposes stirring lyrics with joyful music (also written with Brett and Brad Warren, along with Nick Trevisick).

Another attitude-tinged rocker, "Cry, Cry" (Marv Green/Chris Lindsey/Hillary Lindsey/Aimee Mayo); the beautiful ballad "I'll Still Be Me" (Tammy Hyler/Rachel Thibodeau); and the socially conscious "For These Times," (Leslie Satcher) rounds out the 11-song album.

All told, this is the perfect CD to revel in McBride's stunning voice showcased by sensational lyrics and musicianship from some of Nashville's best writers and players. With Waking Up Laughing, McBride delivers the goods on arguably her best creative effort yet.
``xEEZVklukpuEVRZIoZn``x1175291404``x(default) MARTINA JOINS ABC PRIMETIME TO PROVE SIX DEGREES OF SEPARATION THEORY!``xDarren``xIt's said that everyone has their "six degrees of separation" and ABC's Primetime is set to prove Martina McBride is no exception. From small town Sharon, Kansas singing in her family band, moving to Nashville, recording demos and soon after signing a record deal. Who are the people who helped Martina McBride fulfill her dreams? Correspondent Jay Shadler visited with Martina in Nashville this week to trace back the early days of "wanna-be-country-singer" and how knowing one person who knew another person led to McBride's lucky break.

To further prove the theory, Primetime has selected six people who have three things in common - they do not personally know Martina McBride, they live in small towns and remote places around the country and they have the desire to sing and be heard. Primetime and Martina McBride are giving these six hopefuls the chance to use the process of six degrees to meet the country music superstar and have her produce their very own professional demo at one of the top recording studios in the country - Blackbird Studios. Primetime and Sony BMG have teamed up to allow those demos to be heard by music executives - something Martina can attest to is no easy feat.

"To get the chance to be heard in this business, it takes talent first and foremost but it also takes a lot of determination and even more luck," admits McBride. "Looking back, the naiveté it took for me and my husband John to move here with only a few contacts was crazy but one connection led to another and I think you have to believe it will happen and take that chance."

ABC's Primetime will capture the journey from their most immediate connection through each step leading them closer and closer to the superstar. They are not allowed to call anyone at random but must use the six degrees of separation concept (made famous in 1967 by social psychologist Stanley Milgram whose experiments suggested that two random US citizens were connected on average by a chain of six acquaintances). ABC's Primetime aired an earlier episode entitled The Human Chain proving the theory using people in the New York and Philadelphia area who were not directly related and from very different backgrounds. All were able to connect.

Filming will also include Shadler and McBride retracing the beginning steps of her musical career in Sharon and Wichita, Kansas, McBride on her 2007 national tour, the meeting of one or all of the six contestants who make the connection as well as the demo recordings in Nashville. An airdate for the two 1-hour specials has not yet been scheduled.

Martina's new album Waking Up Laughing will be in stores April 3rd. Her multi-city arena tour with openers Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins kicks off April 12th in Kansas City.

Country music superstar Martina McBride, named “Best Live Act” of 2006 by the Chicago Sun Times, will open her 2007 tour in Kansas City on April 12 before heading to Chicago for a show at the renowned Rosemont Theatre April 14. Joining her for the tour will be 2006 breakout artists Little Big Town (The Road to Here) and Rodney Atkins (If You’re Going Through Hell).

On April 3, just prior to the tour’s kickoff, McBride will release her ninth album, Waking Up Laughing, which she solo-produced. “Anyway”, the debut single, currently sits at No. 9 after only 8 weeks on the country charts, making it her fastest-rising single ever and marks her first songwriting credit. She co-wrote two additional songs on the new album as well.

“As exciting as it is to create a new album, there's nothing quite as thrilling as getting the immediate feedback from a live crowd,” says Martina. “I'm especially happy about being joined by Little Big Town and Rodney Atkins. We put a lot of thought into which artists to include on this tour and I really feel like this show is going to be a treat for my fans from beginning to end. I can't wait to get out there on the road!”

In a Billboard review, Chuck Taylor says, “There’s still no A-list singer with greater depth and range than Martina McBride. She further demonstrates why she is the true reigning queen of the genre with [this] grand, skyscraping power ballad. … As the song builds to its emotional peak, McBride delivers the hoped-for wallop on the money notes, sending a million-dollar chill of inspiration.”

“Few vocalists in any genre have her range and power, or the ability to sell a lyric as well as McBride,” says Country Insider’s Phil Sweetland.

A four-time CMA vocalist of the year, McBride is currently nominated for a 2007 Grammy in the “Best Female Country Vocal Performance” category for “I Still Miss Someone” off her platinum-selling Timeless album, which debuted at No. 1 on the country charts.

Her powerhouse voice has earned her more than 16 million in album sales, garnering six number ones and 21 top 10 singles. Her fiery, passionate vocals have created such signature hits as “Independence Day,” “Wild Angels,” “A Broken Wing,” “Blessed” and “This One’s for the Girls.” These songs, along with hits such as “Concrete Angel,” “Love’s the Only House” and “God’s Will,” have not only become memorable musical statements but also offer resounding social commentaries.

Little Big Town is one of the biggest success stories of the past year. It all began with the release of their CD The Road To Here, the band’s near-platinum debut for the Equity Music Group label. The CD’s release opened the floodgates of critical acclaim, commercial success and award nominations, culminating at the end of 2006 with two major nods: the band’s first Grammy nominations (two) and Billboard Magazine naming the group “The Independent Artist of 2006,” and its album “The Independent Album of 2006,” topping the list of artists and albums in all genres.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to share the stage every evening with Martina McBride,” says Little Big Town’s Karen Fairchild. “She is one of the best singers on the planet, and when it comes to performing, she sets the standard. We are honored that she invited us to be a part of this tour.”

Rodney Atkins, who had the most-played single on country radio last year with “If You’re Going Through Hell,” is continuing that momentum with his second No. 1, “Watching You”, which critic Robert Oermann has hailed as “Another home run. Not only is this a splendid, soaring country-rock production, the terrific lyric [co-written by Atkins] is an object lesson for parents everywhere.” A tribute to Atkins’ 5-year-old son, Elijah, “Watching You” also sits at No. 1 on the CMT Top 20 Countdown. Meanwhile, his newly RIAA-certified gold album, If You’re Going Through Hell, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard country albums chart and No. 3 on the all-genre Top 200, continues its strong sales, remaining in Billboard’s top 5.

“Martina is so well respected in the industry and consistently gives her fans their money’s worth,” Atkins says. “I can’t wait to be a part of that! I’m honored and humbled that she would ask.”

As Martina's hit single "Anyway" races up the charts, the Kansas Music Hall of Fame honors her as a 2007 inductee.

The beautiful songstress, who has received numerous accolades as one of country music's top artists, will add this prestigious honor to her repertoire. Though McBride will not be in attendance to receive the award, she noted her enthusiasm and appreciation to the Hall of Fame.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, January 13th at Liberty Hall in Lawrence, Kansas. Other 2007 inductees include Dawayne Bailey, The Blue Riddim Band, The Common Few, Marilyn Maye, The Rising Suns, Silvertones, and Tide. According to the Kansas Music Hall of Fame website, "Each of these performers and bands were chosen for their significant contribution to the musical history of Kansas."

Bill Lee, president of the Kansas Music Hall of Fame, says that the board of directors gets a say in the vote to keep it from being a popularity contest. He also adds, "As far as I know, we're the only hall of fame that allows dues-paying members to get a vote."

McBride recently wrapped-up her annual Christmas tour and is finishing her album slated for a release in April, 2007.

Martina is also currently nominated for a 2007 Grammy for "Best Female Country Vocal Performance" for "I Still Miss Someone" off her platinum-selling Timeless album.

Martina McBride's powerhouse voice has earned her more than 16 million in album sales, garnered six No.1 hits; 20 Top 10 singles and a mantle of honors, including a record tying four CMA Female Vocalist of the Year trophies. Nashville, TN (July 17, 2006) - In a one-of-a-kind show "guaranteed to put you in the holiday spirit"(Champaign, IL News-Gazette), mega-platinum artist and four-time CMA Female Vocalist of the Year Martina McBride is once again preparing to dazzle fans with her glorious soprano. The critically lauded Christmas spectacular The Joy of Christmas, now in its fourth year, kicks off a 16-city tour in Chicago Nov. 24 and runs through Dec. 22.

The Joy of Christmas, sponsored in part by CMT, is a two-hour multimedia event with elaborate sets, impressive special effects, and a talented cast of actors that complement McBride's powerful voice. The groundbreaking production features 18 seasonal classics, many of which can be found on her platinum-selling White Christmas album, caroling with the children and audience sing-alongs. As executive producer Bud Schaetzle explains, "One minute you're in a quaint village underneath a Christmas tree; the next minute you're in Bethlehem crossing the desert, and the next, you have a World War II, Bob Hope/Bing Crosby vibe. The centerpiece, of course, is McBride and her music."

Critics have raved about McBride's Joy of Christmas tour and sellout shows were the norm. As CMT News noted, "It takes a singer of McBride's power and presence to stand out against such commanding visuals, and she does so with aplomb."

In Martina's words, "Christmas is such a wonderful time, and I wanted to create a memorable holiday experience for the entire family. By developing a show that incorporates elements of theater, video, special effects and audience interaction, we'll be able to take the audience through every aspect of the Christmas season in a magical, inspiring way."

New stops on the holiday tour include Cleveland, OH (Dec. 2), Cedar Rapids, IA (Dec. 9), Worcester, MA (Dec. 17), Portland, ME (Dec. 19), Manchester, NH (Dec. 20), Washington, D.C. (Dec. 21) and Uniondale, NY (Dec. 22).

McBride has been wowing audiences and critics alike since she burst on the country scene in the early '90s. Over the last decade, she has sold over 16 million albums, garnered 20 top 10 hits including nine #1s and received numerous awards.

Group tickets for The Joy of Christmas are currently available at local outlets; individual tickets go on sale in October.

MOTHER’S DAY POLL FINDS REESE WITHERSPOON IS HIPPEST MOM WITH JENNIFER LOPEZ AND JENNIFER ANISTON MOST LIKELY TO BECOME NEW MOTHERS THIS YEAR ACCORDING TO NEW LIFETIME WOMEN’S PULSE POLL

Beautiful, successful -- and now Oscar-winner Reese Witherspoon can add Hippest Mom to her resume! To celebrate Mother’s Day, the Lifetime Women’s Pulse Poll* surveyed nearly 1,000 Lifetime viewers nationwide, who found Reese Witherspoon the hippest mother, ahead of Kelly Ripa, Kate Hudson and Jennifer Garner, while saying Jennifer Lopez and Jennifer Aniston (Marc and Vince, are you listening?) are the celebrities most likely to become pregnant this year.

As she will throughout May, singer Martina McBride will serve as on-air host during the Sunday, May 14 Mother’s Day movie festival, which runs from 11AM-11PM (ET/PT), highlighted by the 5PM (ET/PT) U.S. Television Premiere of Honeymoon with Mom, starring Shelley Long, Jack Scalia and Virginia Williams.

During The Mother of All Months, Martina will share results from the latest poll, answer viewer questions, share her experiences as a mom and talk about her latest projects. "I had fun learning the results from Lifetime's poll and hearing all about how other moms feel. In my music, you can hear how much being a mother has impacted by life. I love to share experiences with other moms and hosting this movie marathon was so much fun!" says McBride. She made sure to fit this into her busy schedule that includes performing to sold-out audiences on her Timeless tour and taking care of her three young girls.

The Lifetime Women’s Pulse Poll also found that women looking for a Mr. Mom to clean their house and take care of the kids selected Tim McGraw, beating out Dr. McDreamy (Patrick Dempsey from Grey’s Anatomy ). But when the vacuuming’s done and they’re looking for someone to tuck them in at night, Matthew Fox ( Lost ) and Ricardo Antonio Chavira ( Desperate Housewives ) were the chocolate on the pillow, edging out Usher and Simon Cowell of American Idol.

How good were their own mothers at giving advice? More than 30 percent said parenting tips were the best advice they ever received, but nearly as many (28.4%) said their mother was horrible at giving advice – such as the mere 2.3% who said their Mom offered pearls of wisdom about sex.

No matter whether their mother was right about raising children or Tim McGraw cleaned the oven, an overwhelming number (76.6%) believed motherhood is harder than when they were young girls.

Among other poll findings:

Far and away (58.9%), the one chore women would gladly surrender is cleaning the house;
Twice as many women (42.9% vs. 21.3%) would rather have a maid than a personal trainer;
Paul Simon’s Mother and Child Reunion was the best song with the word mom in the title over Willie Nelson’s Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys;
More than a quarter of the women (26.1%) were glad they didn’t inherit their mother’s neuroses, followed by fashion sense (18.7%) and physique (9.7%);
As for life in suburbia, Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) and Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman) were the favorite Desperate Housewives moms.

*About the Poll

A nationally random sample of adult women was drawn from the Lifetime Women's Pulse Poll Internet Panel (120,000+ members). A total of 984 internet questionnaires were completed by panelists between March 24th-31st.
